What's New In beer?
(updated 3/30/08)

Well another beerfest season has begun and events will be coming fast and furious. Every weekend some beer-related happening will be taking place in the area. Visit beeradvocate.com for the most complete list in your region.

We've already had several fantastic dinners at Monk's Cafe and lots more to go. Check out monkscafe.com for more upcoming events.

Philly Beer Week was a success beyond anybody's imagination. It seemed that events went off smoothly despite the sheer number of them. I'm sure there were a few glitches, but I haven't heard of them as of yet. I can't see how they can improve upon it, but I'm sure they'll try. Check out upcoming pages for the events we attended.

Yard's new brewery is making progress. There was extensive modification needed to the building to carry the loads. A grain mill has been ordered as well as a new bottling line with "all the bells and whistles" as they say. Look for a possible opening in the summer, but you never know what can happen in a project of this size!

On that subject, The Philadelphia Brewing Co. is up and running with new beers out now.
Kenzinger, Newbold IPA, Rowhouse Red and Walt Wit are their flagship brews for now. Look for them at your local. I have not yet had the pleasure of tasting them. I hope to get back up to Philly to do that soon. I'm sure they'll never get back down this way.

Lew Bryson and myself have submitted the final edit for the book, "New Jersey Breweries" to the publisher. You saw the cover on the website index page. We are expecting an August release. It is really exciting for me to have my  name on a book cover.

Earth, Bread & Brewery, Tom Baker & Peggy Zerver's new place in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia is coming along nicely and they are shooting for a May opening. Check out my page on the updated pics.
